Amy Wyss – Billionaire

Amy E. Wyss (born 1971) is a Swiss-American billionaire heir and philanthropist.

Early life and education

Amy Wyss is the daughter of Hansjörg Wyss, a fellow Swiss billionaire, and founder of the Wyss Foundation. She graduated from Skidmore College, where she received a bachelor’s degree in history and government.

Career

Wyss served on the board of directors of Synthes from 2008 to 2012, when it was sold to Johnson & Johnson. She co-founded the Twirl Toy Store in Taos, New Mexico. She was also a co-founder of the Golden Willows Retreat, a bereavement center in Arroyo Hondo, New Mexico. In 2007, Wyss and her husband, Ed Jaramillo, established the LOR Foundation.

As of October 2015, she had a net worth of US$1.85 billion.

Philanthropy

Wyss served on the board of trustees of the National Outdoor Leadership School and was a member of the board of directors for the Wyss Foundation In 2007, Wyss and her husband, Ed Jaramillo, established the LOR Foundation, a grant-making organization dedicated to improving livability in rural communities across the Intermountain West through community-driven conservation.
