Tung Chee-hwa – Billionaire

Tung Chee-hwa, GBM (Chinese: 董建華; birthed 7 July 1937) is a Shanghai-born Hong Kong entrepreneur as well as political leader. He was the initial President of Hong Kong from the transfer of sovereignty on 1 July 1997 to 12 March 2005. He is presently the vice-chairman of the Chinese ‘s Political Consultative Meeting (CPPCC).

Birthed as the oldest kid of Chinese delivery mogul Tung Chao Yung that started Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL), Tung took control of the family members company after the fatality of his daddy in 1981. 4 years later on, OOCL on the side of insolvency, and also business was conserved by the People’s Republic of China federal government with Henry Fok in 1986.

He was selected an informal participant of the Exec Council of Hong Kong by the last British Guv Chris Patten in 1992.
