Jacky Xu (born 22 September 1984 in Singapore) is a Singaporean business man, investor and philanthropist. He is the Chairman of the Board of Colour Face International Limited (CFI), Early Childhood Holdings Limited and Leadership Management Holdings Limited; through them, he operates one of the Singapore largest vocational training institution.
Xu was born in Singapore, in 1984 to Teochew descendants. His parents separated when he was four years old, and by 2008, he start his first company. Subsequently, Xu open a chain of academic tuition centres, devoted to using technology to help students learn better. From tuition centres, Jacky developed his company into a leading private vocational training chain in Singapore that was poised to be listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange in 2015.
Singapore has a compulsory conscription policy where Jacky was enlisted into 1st Commando Battalion on 21 January 2003. Jacky worked his way up as a recruit to a corporal, graduated from the 45th Commando Section Leader Course, and eventually commissioned as an Infantry Officer from Officer Cadet School from the 52/04 batch. After coming back to Hendon Camp, he converted into a Commando Officer after making the grade in Commando Officer Conversion Course (COCC) and heads Platoon 10 as platoon commander in 4th Company. Subsequently, he became the deputy officer commanding for Eleventh Commando Battalion within the reservist unit in the SAF Commando Formation.
Jacky was the co-chairman of I-Cube (a tri-uni alliance investment club) and the 8th President of NTU Investment Interactive Club (www.ntu-iic.org). During his tenure in the investment club, he was instrumental in organising major financial literacy events in Singapore where undergraduates get a head start in stock trading thru seminars co-organised with the Singapore Stock Exchange, spearheads financial games that help promote financial literacy and awareness among Singaporean youths and get students headstart in investing
Jacky was recognised as the top economic graduate in Hogeschool voor Economische, Amsterdam, Netherlands in 2008. He is currently pursuing his doctorate in education at the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom and a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies (Management) at Harvard University, United States. He graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a Second Upper Class Honours from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
