Mr. Igor Albertovich Kesaev has amassed his estimated net worth of $3.1 billion as the President of the Mercury Group of Companies, a diversified holding company. It was founded in 1991 and started as a food and alcohol exporter. Today, it is the biggest distributor in Russia with a consolidated turnover which exceeded $15 billion. Mercury Group is also the parent company of DIXY, the third largest food retail company in Russia where Kesaev owns a controlling stake. The company has eight distribution centers that supply its stores in the key regions. It also owns a fleet of trucks that helps optimize transportation costs and ensures prompt deliveries to stores. In 2005, Igor Kesaev bought a stake in the oil company, Sibir Energy, from former billionaire Shalva Chigirinksy. In the summer of 2009, he sold his stake in Sibir to state-controlled Gazpromneft. In December 2012, his Mercury Development sold five of the 75 floors of pink mirrored Mercury City tower in Moscow, the tallest building in Europe, to Japan Tobacco International (JTI).
