Hussain Ali Sajwani (Arabic: حسين علي سجواني), was born in 1956 and is a citizen of the United Arab Emirates. He is the founder and Chairman of global property development company DAMAC Properties.
Sajwani was also one of the pioneers of the property market expansion in Dubai. In the mid-90’s, he built several hotels to accommodate the growing influx of people coming to the emirate to do business and trade.
As an astute businessman and investor, Sajwani also has a proven track record of successful forays in the global equity and capital markets. He currently holds investment portfolios of securities in a number of regional and global markets.
DICO Investments Co LLC is Sajwani’s flagship investment company, and was established in 1992. Other business interests include Al Amana Building Materials and Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles Co., both based in Oman, as well as Al Jazeira Services, offering catering and support services.
Sajwani also served as a member of several boards including the Majan University College in Muscat, Oman, JUNO Online in New York and Emirates Takaful Company in Abu Dhabi.
