Leonid Simanovsky
Russian businessman Leonid Simanovsky has an estimated net worth of $1.06 billion as of May 2016 according to Forbes.
He is best associated with Novatek, a gas company which he co-founded in 1994. Initially known as OAO FIK Novafininvest, Novatek is the largest independent natural gas produce in Russia. Novatek owns other companies such as SNP Nova, Purneftegasgeologiya, Tarkosaleneftegas, Khancheyneftegas and Yurkharovneftega. Towards the end of the 1980’s, Simanovsky met the billionaire Leonid Mikhelson. He then worked as a deputy in the construction company owned by Mikhelson. Today, the duo control the First United Bank. Under Vladimir Putin‘s party, Simanovsky recently won the election which led him to serve his third term on Russia’s State Duma. He sits as the deputy chairman of budget and tax committee.
Leonid Simanovsky is a graduate of Kuibyshev Planning Institute. Currently married, he is a father to one child.
