Robert “Bob” Fisher is one of three sons of Gap founders Donald (d. 2009) and Doris Fisher. He chairs Gap’s board and is managing director at the Fisher family’s investment fund, Pisces Inc. Like his two billionaire brothers, Bob attended Princeton (where he played tennis and majored in English) before heading to Stanford’s Graduate School of Business. In between Princeton and Stanford, he briefly worked at Bloomingdale’s. A philanthropist, he gives mostly to democratic and environmental causes. One favorite cause: water management. In 2010 he cofounded the California Water Foundation with the S.D. Bechtel Jr. Foundation, which focuses on improving California’s water supply.
Fisher is the founder and chairman of Fisher Investments, a closely held investment adviser that had more than $100 billion of assets under management as of September 2018. The company provides advice to about 50,000 high net worth individuals and more than 175 institutional clients with offices in the U.S., U.K. and Europe.
