God Semenovich Nisanov (born 24 April 1972 in Krasnaya Sloboda, Azerbaijan Soviet Socialist Republic, USSR) is a Russian entrepreneur, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kievskaya Square company.
Biography
God Nisanov was born on 24 April 1972 in the settlement of Krasnaya Sloboda in Azerbaijan. His father was Semyon Davydovich Nisanov, director of a canned food factory, and his mother was Margarita Mordekhayevna Nisanova (née Abramova).
He graduated first from the College of Finance and Credit and then from the Baku Law Institute.
He received his first administrative experiences as a manager at his father’s factory. Later on he was engaged in oil product transportation and sales, and finally took up wholesale trade in 1992 with his friend and compatriot Zarakh Iliev.
President Putin awarded God Nisanov with the Order of Friendship “for his great contribution to economic project implementation and investment fund raising for Russian Federation economy” in 2014. One year after Putin’s initial decree he was decorated with a memorial medal “70th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945“.
God Nisanov and Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin inaugurated Food City, the country’s first agrocluster and the biggest wholesale and retail food store with an area of 85 hectares, in autumn of 2014. God Nisanov is a co-investor of the project.
Nisanov was elected Vice President of the World Jewish Congress, selected by communities from 115 countries, in September 2014.
Nisanov and Moscow Mayor Sobyanin inaugurated the new international bus terminal South Gates, at the 19th kilometer of the Moscow Circular Highway, in spring of 2015. The businessman is a co-investor of that project as well.
Moskvarium, Moscow’s ocean life aquarium at VDNKh expo area, co-owned and developed by Nisanov, was presented to Putin and Moscow Mayor Sobyanin in August 2015. As of 2015, Nisanov’s key assets are concentrated in commercial property.
He co-owns the Amateur Gardener market, Grand furniture market, Ukraina, Radisson SАS Slavyanskaya, Moscow City international business center.
To support domestic agriculture producers Kievskaya Square group of companies, chaired by God Nisanov, developed Moscow’s first major agro product cluster Food City. The cluster meets 33% of the capital’s demand for food items.
Real estate developer God Nisanov has an estimated net worth of $3.7 billion as of April 2016 according to Forbes. He is the 34th richest person in Russia and the 458th in the world. Born God Semenovich Nisanov on April 24, 1972 in the small town in Azerbaijan, he has a diploma from the Baku Institute of Law. He moved to Moscow in 1992 and became a partner to fellow countryman Zarakh Iliev while helping him in the wholesale trade. Nisanov has accumulated his estimated net worth of $3.7 billion by building shopping markets near metro stations and turning them into shopping complexes which lead to a real estate empire. Their projects total to a nearly 10.8 million square feet. In 2001, he and Iliev opened a trading-exhibition complex called Moscow in Lublino. Biscuit, the company that they both supervise, bought hotel Ukraine at an auction of the government of Moscow in 2005. He opened the trading complex European near the Kievsky station in 2006.
Last year, Nisanov and Iliev were not lucky enough to do the $2 billion rehab of the All Russia Exhibition Center after the Moscow officials decided to rethink the plan. The two however still have their Radisson Royal Ukraine Hotel, European Shopping Center and Radisson SAS Slavyanskaya Hotel in Moscow. They also own numerous huge shopping centers in the outskirts of Moscow where wholesalers from all over Russia come to buy their goods.
