Sun Piaoyang – Billionaire

• Sun Piaoyang has turned formerly government-led Jiangsu Hengrui Medicine into one of the country’s largest producers of drugs to treat tumors, as well as anti-infection medicines.
• Sun became the head of Jiangsu Hengrui in 1990 when he was 32 years old.

Sun is chairman of Jiangsu Hengrui Medicine, China’s largest producer of anti-cancer drugs. He began leading the former state-owned drugmaker in 1990 and became its largest shareholder in 2006. The company produces anti-tumor, painkiller and anti-infective drugs, and had revenue of 13.6 billion yuan ($2 billion) in 2017.
