Norma Lerner (born 1935/36) is an American billionaire, the widow of Al Lerner, founder of the credit card company MBNA.
Early life
She was born Norma Wolkoff, and married Al Lerner in 1955
Career
From 2006 to 2011, she was a member of the United States Holocaust Memorial Council, and a member of its executive committee.
She is chair and president of the Lerner Foundation, director of the Cleveland Clinic, co-founder of the Lerner Research Institute, and founder of the Cleveland Clinic Lerner School of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University.
Personal life
Lerner is widowed, and lives in Cleveland, Ohio. They had two children, Randy Lerner, and Nancy Lerner.

Norma Lerner is the widow of Al Lerner (d. 2002), who made a fortune as founder of credit card giant MBNA. Al was born in Brooklyn, New York to Russian immigrants, and began his career selling furniture and investing his earnings in Cleveland-area real estate. He bought control of Equitable Bancorp in 1981, combined the company with Maryland National in 1989, and spun off MBNA in 1991. The Lerner family eventually merged MBNA with Bank of America in 2005 to create a $35 billion credit card and banking behemoth. The Lerners are the former owners of the Cleveland Browns and the English Premier League’s Aston Villa.
