Takahara is the founder of Unicharm, the third-largest manufacturer of baby care products in the world. The Tokyo-based company began operating in 1961 and produces diapers, sanitary napkins, pet food and other items. It has more than 12,000 employees and reported revenue of 641.6 billion yen ($5.7 billion) in 2017.
