K. Dinesh – Billionaire

After stepping down from the board of Indian IT giant Infosys six years ago, cofounder K. Dinesh, along with wife Asha, has devoted himself to philanthropy. They have funded a cancer center at the Narayana Health Hospital and a clinic, both on their ancestral land in Mysore city. His wife and two daughters have launched VedaEarth, a brand of herbal personal care products that combine ayurveda and aromatherapy.

K. Dinesh is one of the co-founders of Infosys who has an estimated net worth of $860 million as of October 2012 according to Forbes. In the same year, he was ranked 69th in the list of India’s Richest People and 1153rd in the list of World Billionaires. Infosys is an Indian multinational provider of business consulting, information technology, software engineering, and outsourcing services. Based in Bangalore, Karnataka, it is the third-largest India-based IT services company by the 2012 revenues. As of the same year, it is the second largest employer of H-1B visa professionals in the United States. Its market capitalization was $30.8 billion on March 28, 2013 which made it India’s sixth largest publicly traded company.
